Dr. Cruz Caridad Bueno


EDUCATION

Dr. Cruz Caridad Bueno is an economist specializing in economic development, gender violence, and the political economy of race, gender, and class inequality. She is an Assistant Professor of Black Studies and the recipient of the 2014 Rhonda Williams Prize from the International Association for Feminist economics for her qualitative research on low-income black women workers—work funded by the Inter American Foundation’s Grassroots Development Fellowship—in the Dominican Republic and her quantitative research on the economic, political, and social correlates of gender violence. She is currently an Assistant Professor of Black Studies at the State University of New York-New Paltz.
